Our commitment
The Montgomery County Democratic Party wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we have done
In October 2026 we reviewed this website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA using automated testing and manual checks, and made these improvements:
- Increased color contrast for text, buttons, menus, and links.
- Gave every main page a clear heading structure with one main heading.
- Added text descriptions (alt text) to photos of our officers and elected officials.
- Made sure every form field has a label, and replaced the drawn signature on our membership application with a checkbox and typed name that work with a keyboard and screen readers.
- Labeled links that open in a new tab and fixed links that went nowhere.
- Removed moving image carousels and kept layouts readable on phones.
Known limitations
- Some services we link to — including Cash App, our social media pages, and the Alabama Secretary of State’s voter tools — are run by other organizations. We do not control their accessibility.
- Some older news posts and event listings may not yet meet every guideline. We are reviewing them.
