Our mission
Electing Democrats at every level
Our mission is to build a strong local party in order to elect Democrats from the local level, to the statehouse, to the White House.
Today, Montgomery County has more than 100,000 Democrats. We believe in equal protection for all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or economic status. All are welcome in our party, and we will fight for your rights.
What we believe
Our values
Public education
Every child in Alabama deserves a world-class public education. We support paying teachers what they are worth and giving them the support they need to help our children succeed.
An economy for everyone
Every worker should earn a fair wage. We support equal pay for equal work, raising the minimum wage, tax relief for the middle class and small businesses, and good jobs for Alabama.
Health care
We believe everyone should have access to quality, affordable health care.
Equality
We believe in equal opportunity and non-discrimination. Every Alabamian should be treated fairly, and we work to protect clean air and water for every community.
How we are organized
The County Executive Committee
The Montgomery County Democratic Executive Committee includes 40 members elected by County Commission district, 10 at-large members, and up to 12 youth members between the ages of 18 and 40. Members serve four-year terms, and each district elects an equal number of men and women. Membership is open to registered voters in Montgomery County who share the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, age, disability, or ethnic origin.
